Di Bahrain, ramai yang dilaporkan gugur syahid dan cedera apabila tentera menyerang rakyat yang memprotes (sila klik untuk besarkan besarkan gambar yang dicopy paste dari adam4illinois di sebelah). Jumlah sebenar tak dapat dipastikan berikutan pelbagai versi laporan (lihat gambar-gambar dalam blog Dr Faisal Tehrani di sini dan di sini).

Time melaporkan:

History may be less kind when it comes to Bahrain. As reports of violence increase, President Obama has yet to make a public comment.

Berbeza pula sikapnya terhadap protes di Iran. Dalam laporan bertajuk "Obama encourages Iranian protesters", Dawn.com melaporkan:

US President Barack Obama offered encouragement to protesters in Iran Tuesday, saying he hoped they would have the “courage” to continue expressing their “yearning for greater freedoms.”

Obama said that, unlike in Egypt, Iran’s response to protests has been “to shoot people and beat people and arrest people.”

“And, you know, my hope and expectation is that we’re going to continue to see the people of Iran have the courage to be able to express their yearning for greater freedoms and a more representative government,” he said.

Sebelum itu, AFP melaporkan Setiausaha Negara Amerika Hillary Clinton berkata:

"Let me very clearly and directly support the aspirations of the people who are in the streets in Iran today"

Tidak hairanlah kalau protes di Iran itu dipanggil protes mak cik Clinton.

Adalah diharapkan, apa yang dilaporkan sebagai keinginan anggota-anggota Sepah Pasdaran atau Pengawal Revolusi dapat menjadi kenyataan. The Telegraph melaporkan:

Following the recent violence that occurred during anti-government protests in Egypt, the officers argue that it is against the principles of Shi'ite Islamic law to use violence against their own people.

Dilaporkan juga bahawa:

It goes on to state unequivocally, "We promise our people that we will not shoot nor beat our brothers who are seeking to express legitimate protest against the policies and conduct of their leader."
