Eli Wong has to resign?

Many NGO activists in Malaysia show their support for Eli Wong in many forms and many had even explicitly confirmed that she is the victim of political games linked to Barisan Nasional.

The most common statement issued by most NGOs and politicians carry the same message of an individual's privacy should be respected by all, it is like invading a person's privacy and the incident took place at her home.

For PKR politicians it is a common norm of denial of sins while putting blames on Barisan Nasional.

PKR President, Datin Ser Wan Azizah said, "There seems to be a pattern attacking our state assemblymen," she said, pointing out that the Barisan Nasional also had its fair share of scandals."

YB Teresa Kok, said, "It could be politically motivated ?", While PKR linked social activist Maria Chin Abdullah from The Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG), said, "These photos are being released at a time when the tussle for power between the Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat is increasingly in­­tense. Under no circumstance should anyone sink to this level of politicking,"

It is important lesson that we all has to learn from the ordeal faced by Eli Wong

a. We have to condemn the actions of taking photographs of someone's body parts without his or her consent, or knowledge, is against the law.

b. The posting of such materials in the public sphere also constitutes a violation of law.

It's just too bad that Eli Wong is embroiled in the scandal; she need not worry if one has not done anything wrong with her own life styles.

The whole process, Eli should be respected for making a few right decisions:

a. Immediately lodge a police report.

b. Render her resignation as the Selangor state Exco and Wakil Rakyat

However, it is equally important that she repented her sexuality practices which seriously offended our traditionally conservative oriental society in Malaysia. Eli must remember that it is morally wrong and unacceptable for a single woman to allow a man access to her room.

It is an implied moral standard in Malaysian political history that majority of the voters cannot accept leaders with moral issues.

Malaysian society had always held the moral high ground on the selection of wakil rakyat candidates, will other Pakatan Rakyat component parties willing to share the similar values?

There is no point to argue about the issue of old or new nude pictures. Eli as the Wakil Rakyat must explain to the people and if she is really guilty of having posed for these pictures. She definitely can not deny that she is the person inside the picture!

To cut short the lengthy police investigation, PKR leaders may need to confirm with Eli personally on her intimate relationship with her boy friend and allow him for easy access into her private room; if the answer is positive, then Eli only has herself to be blamed for her misfortune for her own deeds.

Pakatan Rakyat, especially PKR lead by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim should not just concern about holding to the power but ignoring the principles of the struggles of PAS that do not compromise moral indecency unless he personally endorsed and support such a distasteful western culture.

Yang Berhormat is a title honored to those who are respected by the people and there is nor room for the distasteful sexuality display.

Pakatan Rakyat need to uphold the principle of high morality and ethical political practices if it is to outlast Barisan Nasional in the Malaysia political arena!
