1.There have been many issues lately pertaining to Air Asia.I just want to share my thoughts with you and if you can extend this to your Penarik Beca Blog, I would be very much happy.It would give an opportunity to share my thoughts with your readers and would be happy with their response.

2.Air Asia is a brand made in Malaysia.From two or three planes airline, they are now a major player.They have proved to the world that no frills airline is workable here in Malaysia and Asia.They have create jobs for many Malaysian and allow more Malaysians to fly.I have friends and relatives in Alor Setar who use to drive to KL or use the express buses, now they fly ! And now they can take their holidays in Sabah and Sarawak.Air Asia got themselves listed in Bursa Malaysia, and the listing does contribute to the performance of Bursa.Some investors, Malaysian and foreigners made money out of the listing excercise.I assume as a corporate entity they pay taxes and if they does, its money to our national coffers.They provide competiton to MAS, and this competition among other factors propel MAS to do better ! Hey ! Air Asia does have an impact to us Malaysian.

3.But to me the BIGGEST impact is they symbolise the Malaysia Boleh spirit .They make me proud and the Air Asia brand is a Malaysian brand.From a small kid on the block, they wag the old MAS from its stupor ! I remember my days in Celcom.Back then we were nobody, but within less then 5 years we beat the crap out of Telekom Malaysia ! Celcom becomes then the biggest cellular operator in South East Asia and with her partnership with the utility operators she have the most extensive fiber optic network in the country.If there were no management change in Celcom in mid 1990s, she would have beat not only Telekom Malaysia, but would have made Singapore Telecom run for her money ( this is in relation to Celcom competing with SingTel for international traffic).Air Asia remind me of the old Celcom.Air Asia have the 'fighting spirit', they have the 'can do' attitude and they have a charismatic leader - Tony Fernandes.I believe they are ready not only to take on MAS but they can beat the crap out of Singapore Airlines.Shouldn't we facilitate them..........?

4.They want to build a new airport and they say they can built it cheaper.Staying in KLIA is too expensive they say.True, when we built the KLIA for so many billions, off course Malaysia Airport Bhd will charge everything expensive.And we wonder why not many airlines are coming here ! I disagree giving Air Asia the permission to build the airport at Labu.And MAB I forsee will not lower their charges anytime.So give Air Asia the permission to operate in Subang.Give them this opportunity ! Let them shows the MAB boys how to run and promote an airport.Let Air Asia teach MAB what is 'positioning' all about, rather then MAB always lamenting in their marketing drives that KLIA is the most modern airport in the world....I believe if Air Asia is able to operate Subang, they will turn Subang into an airport with more airlines coming there than going to KLIA.At least the airlines are going to Subang, rather than Changi.This is what the government must look at, protecting KLIA may not be in the best interest to the country.The nation interest is more serve by having the best airline running the best airport !

5.To the boys and ladies running Air Asia, don't give up.I know the MAB and Khazanah chaps can talk.Ask them to start like you guys.They will fail...
