Merry Christmas to my Christian friends!
To some Muslims, wishing the non-Muslims with Merry Christmas or any of their religious festivals is haram (forbidden).
On Christmas day, Imam Khomeini gave a message to all the Christians of the world that the news agents broadcast. As well as this message, he told us to distribute gifts to the residents of Neauphel-le Chateau. These were usually Gaz (a type of confectionary), Aajeel (dried nuts or seeds or fruits) and Shireeni (sweet items) that some brothers had brought from Iran. We carried this out and next to each package, we placed a flower stem.
In the places we went to, we sensed that many in the West were not familiar with this kindness and love, even between fathers and their children, They felt it very strange that the night of the birth of the Prophet of the Christians, a non-Christian Iranian leader was so close to them and felt love for them. For example there was a woman who, when she took the Imam's gift, was so overcome that tears rolled down her face.
Channel 4 to air Ahmadinejad message
Reuters (24/12/08): The world's troubles are rooted in a rejection of God and if Jesus Christ lived today he would stand up against bullying powers, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will tell Britons on Christmas Day.
The message will be broadcast on Channel 4 Thursday evening as an alternative to the traditional Christmas television and radio address from Queen Elizabeth.
"The crises in society, the family, morality, politics, security and the economy ... have come about because the prophets have been forgotten, the Almighty has been forgotten and some leaders are estranged from God," Ahmadinejad said, according to a translation of his message.
"If Christ were on earth today, undoubtedly he would stand with the people in opposition to bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers."
Tehran has accused both Britain and the United States of trying to destabilise the Islamic Republic. Tensions have grown in recent years because of the U.S.-led invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and Western worries over Iran's nuclear ambitions.
U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has said he plans a new approach to Iran, including direct talks if needed, over what Washington says are the world's fourth biggest oil producer's plans to build atomic weapons -- a charge Iran denies.
"Today, the general will of nations is calling for fundamental change," Ahmadinejad said.
"The prerequisite to this change is a change in goals, intentions and directions. If tyrannical goals are repackaged in an attractive and deceptive package and imposed on nations again, the people, awakened, will stand up against them."

Betul lah haram...Ini berdasarkan hadith lebih kurang bunyinya barang siapa yang mengikuti sesuatu kaum itu,maka ia tergolong dalam kaum tersebut..(betulkan saya kalo saya silap)..
kalo kita sambut krismas, memang sah le kita masuk puak itu...tapi kalo sekadar mengucap merry christmas untuk menghormati mereka...x salahkan Pak Bakaq?

Ish. Halal dan haram bukan hak kita. Siapa kata haram? Nak ucap apa pun ucaplah sebagai penghormatan kepada rakan kita yang bukan beragama Islam. Sila baca buku Usuluddin al-islami (Dr Qahtan al-Douri). Hadis bkn kalau mengatakan kita adalah dari kalangan mereka, tetapi bukan bermakna kita kafir. Merry Christmas dan Selamat Hari Natal kepada Teressa Kok.
Apa ertinya menyambut krismas di malaysia? Penganut Agama kristian akan ke Church pada waktu malam. Orang yg bukan kristian tetapi menyambut krismas dengan memberi hadiah kpd orang2 tersayang. Ada juga yg bukan kristian yang akan mengambil kesempatan berpesta di kelab2 malam.
Bagi orang2 bukan kristian yang beragama lain seperti Islam, Buddhist dan hindu akan berkunjung ke rumah kawan2 yang mengadakan rumah terbuka.
Sebagai muslim kita patut hormat pada tradisi agama lain. Kita tidak menyambut upacara keagamaan mereka. Krismas adalah sambutan kelahiran Nabi Isa. Kita hanya meraikan dengan memberi ucap salam dan berkunjung dan makan2. Ini akan menguatkan lagi keharmonian antara kaum dan agama.
